Compassionate Pet Euthanasia

No matter what we call it—”put to sleep,” “put down,”  “crossed the rainbow bridge”—the decision to euthanize a beloved pet is extremely difficult. The process of losing a pet is different for everyone, and the staff at Paws to Heaven have the highest respect for that.

Watching a beloved pet’s health decline is an extremely hard thing to go through—it is losing your best friend. Our compassionate staff members will always do everything in our power to make this time less painful for pets and their families too.
Knowing When It’s Time to Say Goodbye

Deciding when to let a beloved pet go is never easy. Every animal is different, but there are times when they may be telling us that they’re tired or no longer comfortable. While your veterinarian can help guide you through this difficult decision, some common signs may mean your pet’s quality of life is declining:
  • Ongoing pain that can’t be controlled with medication
  • Trouble breathing or extreme tiredness
  • Difficulty standing, walking, or moving without help
  • Not eating or drinking for several days
  • Confusion, restlessness, or unexpected aggression
  • Losing interest in people, toys, or favorite activities

If you notice any of these changes, reach out to your to veterinarian or call us to discuss a quality-of-life assessment. Together, you can make choices that put your pet’s comfort and dignity first.
What Happens After?

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is never easy, and we understand how important it is to honor their life in a meaningful way. After euthanasia, you may choose the option that best reflects your wishes and your pet’s memory—whether through burial or cremation.
At Paws to Heaven, we offer a variety of services designed to provide comfort, care, and respect:
  • Private cremation — your pet is cremated individually, and their cremains are returned in a keepsake urn (with upgrade options available)
  • Memorial keepsakes — clay paw prints, Pawpals prints, and ink paw or nose prints
We’re here to guide you through each step--
offering arrangements, and compassionate support during this difficult time of saying goodbye to your cherished companion.
